Food For Thought

So I usually run through the blogs on my sidebar on a daily basis..... usually I post other bloggers content here on the dirt report only when I find it to be amusing, entertaining or very relevant in the reality I live in......

Hipster Runoff has been one of those ones I check daily for a good laugh, a occasional boobie, and an electro mp3 here and there...

today I peeped this:

HIPSTER RUNOFF HACKED from Hackster Runoff on Vimeo.

I then read the 14 paragraph rant from the alleged hacker, and I really started to think about what dude is saying... It's interesting these day how the internet has shaped and continues to shape the social consciousness among My generation, your generation, and the young ones coming up.......

We live in a myspace world where fame can easily be obtained by how good you look in a selfshot mirror/bathroom picture.... Trends are easily copied and bitten without any skill or effort....Youth of today are seeking to gain acceptance from strangers who are their "friend" and dress/listen to the same music as them....

Everyone talks shit, PERIOD........ Everyone wants to be cool for not being like everyone else......

I have a myspace, and a facebook, and this blog....... honestly I waste more time here than any of the three.... but I don't base my life around the internet..... I just am at a computer for 40hours a week... with high speed internet connection.....

Maybe I'm still just a little stoned from my lunchtime bongloads, or maybe I havent ranted to my 5+ viewers in a while.....

but the hacker dude has some good points, here are my favorite quotes.....

"fuck any one who reads this blog. you should be ashamed of yourselves and your parents should take away your internet for a year and make you live on the streets, just like me. you fuckers don’t even know that there’s REAL PEOPLE out there who are LIVING LIFE and MAKING A LIVING. you just want to sit there and gawkerfy everything. like i said, i am deeply disturbed by today’s internet culture and the trends amongst the latest generation. every thing is like a mirror and every one just wants to reflect. they waste time on their bullshit myspaces posting photos and creating themselves. it’s just fucking bullshit. waste of time. you spend so much time thinking about who you are that you don’t even become someone. needless to say, with sites like this promoting that, this world is headed down the shitter. of course kids are gonna makes mistakes, but not if they are told that it is okay to make mistakes and that it is cool to act like a dumbfuck all the time."

"there is just so much hate in the scene that we are tearing apart. i am deeply disgusted with whats going on in the world right now and because of sites like these, we are losing our culture because we are afraid to be ourselves. ive got news for all of you–our world is not going to get any better any time soon, and this website is not helping it. fuck music blogs, culture blogs, and blogs that post cool looking pictures. if you really want to save the economy, how about keeping ass hole millenials from wasting time at work all day looking at cool shit that makes them feel connected. that would save us like millions of hours worth of work if we just made you fuckheads work in the fields like the slaves that you should be."
